Belize Shirts

These shirts are a passion project. I created this t-shirt design for my brother who spent a summer living and working in Belize. I got the idea for a t-shirt design because I wanted to create something my brother could proudly wear as a reminder of his Belize experience. I got inspiration from other vacationing, travel destinations, and national park t-shirts. Belize is considered a beautiful travel destination yet I noticed a lack of easily available stylish merch or souvenirs in the form of shirts or other garments. My solution was to create my own design.

I got inspiration for the design from researching Belize and the art, styles, and colors. I made sketches of the different local wildlife that the country is famous for such as toucans and jaguars. I incorporated the more abstract designs to represent the bright colors, lush foliage and Caribbean beaches of the country. I used my knowledge of screen printing to ultimately settle on the full back and left chest print. The designs were printed on green, light green, and blue shirts.
